Jack and Mitchell

Saturday was a really fun photo session with our friend John's kids. We wanted to do something different that showed off their skills skateboarding and just being cool kids. Jack and Mitchell were great to work with, and had some ideas that they had done on their own, with their Mom and Dad's digital camera. So, we incoporated their idea of posing in front of the car. It was a lot of fun and involved touring downtown and laying on the ground for some shots. Oh and the security guard in the parking garage was nice in that he didn't ask us to leave when we told him we were taking photos. :)

Local Celebrities

Wednesday night, Todd and I attended a seminar by two famous local photographers Domenico Castaldo and Damon Tucci. Well while mixing with our friends from the Central Florida Flickrs, we were captured on camera at the seminar!

Visit Domenico's blog at http://castaldogallery.blogspot.com/ and see if you can spot us. You'll need to scroll down a little to see the photo and Todd and I are standing together in the shot.

Maternity Mixer

So this past Saturday before meeting up with our freinds Chris and Holly we went to Clermont for a photography club group shoot. Quite of few of the ladies in our club are expecting, so one of the group members organized a get together at her home, for a group shoot. There were also quite a few photographers shooting away, and it felt like a paparazzi moment!

Although we were only able to stay for a couple of hours, we still got some great shots of these lovely moms-to-be. Let us know what you think!

Valentine's Session

We were so excited to get together with our good friends Holly and Chris for a couple's Valentine's Day session. We've been trying to get together for a while for a photo session, and what more perfect holiday than Valentine's Day. Holly and Chris were perfect for an urban location shoot, because they're so stylish and into the Downtown Orlando scene. We had a blast and were all really silly during the shoot, but when it came to getting the shots, it was all serious. Thanks guys for a wonderful time and as soon as we perfect our rib cookin', we'll be sure to have you over!

A Wonderful Organization

Todd and I were looking for a way to give back to our community. When we attended the DWF Convention in Tampa earlier this year, we came across the booth for
Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. I had heard about the organization before, and was interested in donating our services. They were wonderful in answering our questions, and we were able to sign up immediately.

The organization is for parents whose babies are stillborn or at risk of dying as newborns. Volunteer photographers across the country offer their services to these greiving families, so that they have a beautiful heirloom of their precious baby.

If you're inteterested in finding out more, or donating to this wonderful organization, please visit their Web site at www.nowilaymedowntosleep.org.

Officially Two Months Old

Lauren came over for a visit yesterday with her new baby George. Yesterday was also Fat Tuesday, the last day of Mardi Gras celebrations. George is also officially two months old as of yesterday. We enjoyed chatting about baby stuff, and listening to some Zydeco music.

We had a lot of fun catching up, and before Lauren and George headed out, I took a few photos of him. Isn’t he a cutie!

City of Orlando Blues BBQ

Mom and Dad Kasprzyk drove over to meet us at the 2nd Annual City of Orlando Blues BBQ. We're all fans of the blues and definitely fans of some good barbecue, so it didn't take any arm twisting to convince Mom and Dad to come over. Robert Cray and Koko Taylor were the headlining acts. They're big in the blues world, so check out their music if you're into the blues or not.

Isn't he just one of the cutest bulldogs! There were tons of dogs at the festival.

Do you think he likes his sandwich?

It was so cool to be surrounded by the city and listening to some blues.

Dad chillin and enjoying some blues.

MMMMM Barbecue!

My Mom and I.

Scouting

Todd and I met up during his lunch break today, to scout out some downtown Orlando areas for photography sessions. It was a grey day outside, but we were able to avoid the rain and pick out some great locations. After our scouting trip, we stepped into the City Arts Factory and met Leena Buchy who is in charge of event booking for the venue. We hope to schedule a time soon, to use their venue for a photo session. It's also a great place for parties and weddings.

Groundbreaking for Common Ground

Todd is a landscape architect by day, and came up with this amazing idea for an interactive playground in Lakeland. It involves a butterfly who greets children as they enter the park. There are activities for kids of all abilities, and the design encourages social interaction among all children.

The really amazing part of it all is that the City of Lakeland had a particular budget set for this park. When Glatting Jackson presented this idea, which was well above what they had budgeted for, the City of Lakeland fell in love with the concept, and found the funding to make it work.
